As we enter into the holiday season, I am reminded of things that I am grateful for as a parent and the special gift I have received of a child. As we wrap up the year of parenting ministries, there is one special to my heart and that is a ministry that supports couples like me, couples going through infertility. The first step in parenting is to become a parent. One of the great Biblical models for this is Hannah. The story of Hannah, found in I Samuel describes the desperate prayer of a woman of faith. Hannah’s Prayer Ministries provides Christian-based support and encouragement to married women around the world who are struggling with the pain of fertility challenges, including primary and secondary infertility, pregnancy loss, early infant death, and adoption loss. The outreach extends to those who become mothers of living children through pregnancy, adoption and/or foster care.
The ministry reaches out through a variety of resources which you can browse on their site. It includes online articles, links to articles and ministry links for a better focus on the unique needs. There are also community forums available through the site.The focus of this ministry is connection and support.
Their beliefs outline not only the beliefs regarding salvation, but God’s plan and Biblical perspectives on infertility. Scripture and examples are offered to help people dealing with infertility to determine what is Biblically true about their struggle.
